PTSD Symptoms

National Center for PTSD  – a list of symptoms and brief descriptions

Clearly, my blog does not offer clinical information or professional help. You can find that information on a variety of official websites. The above link is a great place to start. I encourage you to gather as much information as you possibly can. The better armed you are, the better chance you have of slaying the monster of PTSD.

PTSD symptoms fall into four main categories – arousal, avoidance, depression, and intrusion. However, the way they manifest for each of us is very individualized. Some of my experiences may sound familiar to you while others might not. This disorder is wicked-sharp in its ability to target our softest, most sensitive spots to cause maximum chaos and disrupt our sense of security and well-being.

This page will help you locate posts that cover the way specific symptoms play out for me. Keep in mind that this page is a work in progress. I’m just starting a chain of posts about my symptoms so check back for new links. With that said, if you need help now and can’t find what you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
